Minneapolis police officer spared jail time

The Star Tribune is reporting that following a guilty plea, Ex MPD police officer Justin Stetson will be spared jail time, and instead must successfully follow through with two years of probation among specific additional conditions. According to the article, Stetson pleaded guilty to a felony third-degree assault and gross misdemeanor misconduct of a public employee or officer. The victim, Jaleel Stallings, and his attorney see the plea deal as a “betrayal” of justice as it allows officers the room to act maliciously toward the public with little to no consequence.
